Privacy policy
What this site collects, why, for how long, and what you can demand.

No cookie banner, and why
This site sets a single cookie, named “sam_lang”. It remembers the language you pick in the selector so you are not sent back to another version of the site again and again. It is written only if you make that choice, it contains only “fr”, “nl” or “en”, and it expires after a year.
There is no audience measurement, no advertising tracker, no social media button, and since 19 August 2026 the typefaces are served from our own domain rather than from Google. A cookie strictly necessary for the service you asked for requires no consent: that is why no banner blocks your page.
Data controller
SAM Fire — Detection Solutions, a company being incorporated. Its identification details will be published once registration is complete. For any question about your data: info@samfire.be.
What we collect, and what for
Quote request: company, contact name, email, telephone, building type and floor area, services wanted, deadline, town, any message and the language of the page. This data is used to prepare the site survey and draw up an offer — pre-contractual steps taken at your request (art. 6.1.b GDPR).
Compliance assessment: your answers to the questionnaire. They are tied to your identity only if you go on to request a quote.
Application: name, email, telephone, role applied for and message. Used solely to handle your application.
Email updates: your address, if you agree to receive them. Every message carries an unsubscribe link that works without having to write to us.
How long we keep it
Quote requests: three years from the last exchange, the usual period for a commercial relationship.
Applications: six months, then automatic deletion. Not an intention — a scheduled task that runs every night.
Unsubscribes: we keep the unsubscribed address, precisely so as never to write to you again.
Who else has access
Nobody, apart from our technical processors: Convex, Inc. for the database (infrastructure in Ireland), Vercel Inc. for hosting the site (functions running in Frankfurt), Resend for delivering email, and Cloudflare for the domain and mail forwarding. Some of these providers are established in the United States: any transfers rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Your data is never sold, rented, or passed on for advertising.
Your rights
You may request access to your data, its correction, its erasure, restriction of its processing, object to its use, and receive a usable copy. Write to info@samfire.be: we answer within the month.
If the answer does not satisfy you, you may refer the matter to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — contact@apd-gba.be.
